New to the forums and new to walleye fishing in Traverse City. I've been away for awhile. Raising 3 daughters will do that to you. Used to fish St. Clair for wally's using bombers. Had some success. Never fished up here for them though. I understand they run out of the Boardman River. Just looking for some sage advice.

basically just troll the pier head at the mouth of the boardman with tots or bombers, or fish from the pier on the holiday inn side. my grandma lives across the street from the holiday inn and i spent alot of time there fishing steelies in the spring and kings in the fall. never know what you are going to catch there salmon, lakers, whitefish, eyes, splake.also elk rapids is a pretty good spot either fishing the mouth or jigging the river channel next to the flooded timer, the area is mainly a cold water fishery but there decent numbers of eyes.Boardman lake is loaded with pike and decent numbers of eyes but they tend to be smaller. hope this helps.there is a bait store on 31 just north of town on the west bay and the guy is usually pretty nice to the patrons.

Griz,

Thanks for the help. Surprised to see they use bombers. Guess I am all set for that. I will look up the bait shop and see what I can find out.
