This weekend was nothing but a fantastic week. Not many fish caught, matter of fact no steelhead but still a very fun time had. I fished
Wednesday: 2-7
Friday: 10-3
Sat:9-7
Sunday:6am til 5
and got skunked on everyday except Sunday when I ice fished skimog. We have had nothing but great weather up here lately. It’s killing me though because the first few days I was able to get out, the river was already a river flow of mud. You couldn’t even see an inch because of all the melt off. The fish are there though. Some big uns too.

One of the guys I met at the end of salmon season I have been fishing with about everyday. Very knowledgeable fisherman. He’s been limiting out everyday or at least hooking a limit of fish. The average fish though is like 10 or so pounds. Can’t wait to hook one of them bruisers. Maybe tomorrow? Anyhow, the fish have started to bed a little.

I only took a few pics this week of the sunset and sunrise.
The first was taken out on the bay Wednesday when the sun was setting.

Saturday mournin I fished steel in the mournin. I then went and woke my buddy up and told him to get his license and rod, were going fishin. We fished the bay all night with no success. He had a one day license that expired Sunday at 12 PM so we decided to go early the next mournin.

Needless to say, I pulled an all nighter. Right when I was about to fall a sleep, I woke up to the drunken kid that I think stole my books bowling with a REAL BOWLING ball in the hallways. I never was able to get back to sleep.

Sunday sunrise was awesome.

It kept getting better

We were out the door about 6 and got there around 6:30 am. We switched 10 times and only found dinks all mournin between 3-4 inches. At our first spot when setting lines, I smelled skunk. I looked around and didn’t any. I thought for sure I was cursed the rest of the mournin, lol. I had two rods out with 2 hooks with every single bait you could imagine and they wouldn’t touch anything but wigglers:confuse: the dinks that is.

Then I dropped off Joe and fished the river from 2 til 5. No hits but a lot of people on the river. The river was also really muddy.

I checked out the river today but it was way to muddy. Couldn’t even see 6 inches into the water. So I blew of today’s fishing which mighta been a good thing, lol

Now I am excited for another weeks of fishing. Hopefully the weather doesn’t get colder but warmer. The snow is melting quick.

Probably won't be out much this week with the raain muddying up the river majorly. I am also off to new york early saturday mournin to see my aunt and uncle in off broadway.
Til next time

Based on what Don said, it sounds like a perfect time to test run those Alaskabous. Muddy water=brite flies.......

Great post Dan. Im sure with this warm weather, a few rivers will be up and dirty. I just hope their not to high this up coming weekend and make wading almost impossible. That would really bum me out.
