Hey guys. This is a pretty cool forum! I found this site in Jan. '03 while looking for icefishing stuff and been here ever since. Ashamedly, I haven't been to any of the outings yet. But although I don't know any of you personally, I definitely consider myself amongst friends here!
I'm 34 and have lived in Grand Rapids all of my life. I live with my girlfriend, her 6 yr. old daughter, and we're expecting our daughter (my first) in May. Very thankfully, my Dad taught me how to fish at a very young age as I plan to do with my own daughter. I've been addicted ever since, and hopefully she will be too!! I can't wait until she's old enough to get a set of waders!!! As far as species/methods are concerned, my absolute favorite thing in the world is fall salmon/steelie fishing. Icefishing comes in a close second. Fortunately, although I live in a city, I can go five minutes west, (Grand River) or five minutes east (Reeds Lake) and take care of both fixes!!
Anyway, other than that I'm into good music, fine brews, and fine motorsickles. (Not together of course!!) I ride a '99 Buell Cyclone which looks good, goes fast, and like any other respectable H-D product, leaves a puddle of oil wherever I park it!!
Hopefully this year I'll make it to the salmon slam and get a chance to meet some of you guys. I've had a couple of opportunities to icefish with a couple guys this year but due to the job situation I had to pass. Now that that's straightened out, it's time to fish!!!!
Take care guys...Sid
