Fished Macaday lake for splake on friday afternoon. I went 2 for 3 on minnows with a couple of 16inchers. One of the fish had a large slash on its side with numerous other cuts. Are there big northerns in there? muskie?

Blue, I've fished it during the summer months, and let me tell ya, some good sized pike out there, but some absolutely monster largemouth bass....... Hows the ice over there? and what depth are you fishing? i've never done the trout through the ice thing, but would love to give it a try sometime.

Steve , I was fishing in about 3-4 feet on the east shore, about 3/4 mile from the launch. I use slip bobbers and set the minnow about half way to the bottom. They seem to come into the shalllows and chase minnows around. They also come in schools because you will be sitting there and then your rods will just get attacked. it is a riot, you can limit out real fast when they are staying hooked. The ice as of friday was excellent 8-10 inches.
