My name's Jim and I like fishing. (All together now - "Hi Jim" ;) ) I'm a computer geek normally though, so you'll either find me in front of a monitor, up to my elbows in circuit boards, trying to repair something the size of the average flea, or crawling around under desks most of the time. I also enjoy reading, especially science fiction and theoretical science. (Stuff like artificial intelligence, quantum gravity, theoretical physics, the nature of space/time, etc.)
When I'm not acting like a total nerd, you'll either find me out fishing, unconcious, or working on the house. I live with my parents (quit laughing ;) ) and do a lot of odd jobs. It works out well, since I get to spend time with them and help out on stuff they probably shouldn't be doing at their age, we get along well, and they give me have the space I need.
I enjoy everything from smelt dipping, to fishing for bluegill while drifting around a pond in my canoe, to king fishing from piers, to walleye fishing in rivers, to fishing for stream trout, to ice fishing for perch. I really don't hunt, but don't knock those that do. I had a bad experience related to hunting when I was 11 or 12 that made me of the opinion that it's just not worth the hassle to hunt for the amount of enjoyment I got out of it.
I've met a few people from this board, but am somewhat reserved until I get to know you. I have a quirky and often morbid sense of humor. I form my opinions based on logic and reason - they often don't mesh with those that are popularly held.
For hobbies, I enjoy listening to music, making knives, computer games, and fiddling with computers. I like everything from opera, to classic rock, to heavy metal, to classical, to thrash and death metal. I really can't stand country or rap and find hip-hop about as interesting as going to the bathroom.
That's me in a nutshell.
