My name is Jim. I am the great Rabbit Whacker :) I could have been a lot of other things but they were all taken.
I live in the great state of Michigan. Lowell to be specific. Born and raised in GrandRapids. Moved 15 minutes from home a few years ago.
I work in the Green Industry, Landscape Design Build. Following in my grandfather, and fathers footsteps, so I have been doing it since I was "ankle high to a grasshopper".
My dad taught me the in's and out's of hunting. My mom taught me the in's and out's of fishing. Growing up with a lake in my back yard and 40 acres to rome, hunting and fishing were and still are very important in my life. I spend most of my hunting time with my two nephews, who are more like brothers to me.
A group of dentists brought me into rabbit hunting. They would come to hunt a large parcel of land behind our house every other weekend or so in the winter. When I would here there beagles barking on a trail, I would throw my coat on, grab my 20 gauge single shot and go find them. At first, I felt like an intrusion to them. But, they quickly began teaching me about rabbits, beagles, and life. I couldn't tell you there names, its been 15 years, but they were awesome and I owe a lot to them.
I had to wait until I was 18 to get my first beagle, parents weren't to excited about it. He is gone now, but I have two more of them. They are my kids, Penny and Abby. They don't have papers, aren't perfect, but I wouldn't trade them or sell them for any amount of money. Besides, my wife would kill me. Although she won't let me get another one, yet.
I love this site. Great people, a ton of info, and a lot of fun.
