Howdy-
Well, it seems like the latest rage.....
I'm Les Phillips, the Party Mollusk (no, not the Pretty Mollusk, as Neal might have you believe...)
Screen name comes from an old friend when I lived in California. He was a very likable guy who had a penchant for late-night crawls in not-too-friendly neighborhoods and bars (Compton, Watts, East LA, etc.) He would go out all night drinking and smoking in some of the worst areas imaginable without getting into a bit of trouble. He would regularly invite me to accompany him on these jaunts, but I, not seeing myself in possession of the same 'charmed' status as he, would decline. I always said "Hey, we can just hang out here, smoke and drink to our hearts' content, and you just have to stumble through the yard and you are home. Why take the chance with driving, cops, etc?" At his POE they had a tradition of calling people 'the Party ______', depending upon their habits/characteristics. He was the Party Buffalo, and it really fit, He could consume massive quantities of intoxicants with little effect; you could picture him as a buffalo, high upon a hill, gazing out at the herd. I became the Party Mollusk because I never wanted to leave my home......:o
I'm a late in life father, approaching 54 with a daughter (Emily, Ms. Mollusk) who will be 14 and a son (Connor, Buddy Boy Mollusk) who turned 10 on St. Valentine's Day. My wife (Mrs. Mollusk) is a former kindergarten teacher who helps with Sunday school classes at our church. We are all members of this wonderful site.....
I'm primarily a whitetail hunter in the shotgun zone, but picked up a bow for both myself (Thanks, Byron!) and for Emily (Thanks, wild bill!) However, we have yet to put any serious time into them..:(
We have three dogs (Golden, Beagle, Jack Russell) and all are female.
Please, new members fill out your profile! Put something in the 'Location' space; it will give other members an idea of where you are when you post about weather, items for sale, and for Meet-N-Greets, an important part of this site.
Welcome all new members! See you on the boards....
