Hi folks,

I too am an "oldtimer" here. I've been on here a little over 3 years. It's amazing how much this site has grown. I think I was member number 1200. We're now over SEVEN THOUSAND strong ! This is truly a great site full of helpful and generous people.

My name is John Pollman (hence the jpollman screen name). I do also go by "Budster" on the campfire though. I wish I'd joined as Budster but I didn't want to lose a bunch of posts so I just stuck with the dual names. I'll be forty in about a week and a half and that's got me a little depressed but I'll get through it.

I'm a self employed builder. I don't build complete homes but I do remodeling, general repairs, flooring (wood and ceramic), decks, etc. If you've ever got a question in these areas, drop me a line and I'd be happy to offer advice wherever I can.

I've been married for 9.5 years and have a seven year old son and a 13 year old Springer Spaniel. I used to hunt but quit about 10 years ago. My grandfather passed away as well as another of his friends so that put a big dent into our little hunting party. My father lost interest and he's getting on in years too so he quit. I went a few more times with friends or by myself but the last time I hunted I came very close to being shot and I decided that was enough. My son needs a father much more than I need a head hanging on the wall !

I do enjoy fishing though so that's what I've turned my interests to.

Hello to all you new members who don't know me and also to those who do.

Drop by the campfire sometime when you see "Budster" logged on and we'll chat !

JP,
Don't worry about it. Live only gets to be more funner after forty, trust me! You'll have to go through some crap, but keep your head on you'll be fine and a better man for it.
