Hey man, Like I said in a previous report, I am going to check it out tomorrow. I'll let you know. That is some fun stuff. Except last year there were not too many steelies. Or may be it was just the walleyes wouldn't let them get a chance. In all my days there, I only say two hooked. Hey is there any bait stores in that area? The one next to the park is closed down

you must have been in the wrong spot at Fatrock then. Caught my first steelie there last year. 6lb male. hooked many, caught a musky and at least 40 5lb eyes.

Yeah I caught the biggest small mouth in my life there. Couple of muskies, and countless eyes. That place is great in the spring. May be we can talk some smack there sometime. I'll have a green army jacket on.

by the way, what where you using? I end up using spawn/waxies/wiggler flies. What has worked the best for you?

Question: What is the bes tthing to use at the huron for eyes??? And, when is the best time???? Never did good there on anything except suckers, but, always fish it at our secret hole, mainly for suckers, hooked a couple steelies and eyes too, though, dont fish for them. Would much rather catch eyes and steelies.

C.T.T your right, in the summer, it's a mosquito fest and small gills.
The water's up and a little warmer in feb and march, the eyes are in there, thick.

I'm not sure how long they hold back there.
I always moved on to the Trenton channel after the inland season ended.
...always here of guys doing the catch and release thig but I'm not so sure of the legality of it.
Flat Rock is a bad place to do anything shady. There's plenty of plain close officers lurking in the shadows:p

gotta have my man polar's back for this one. Falt Rock public? Yep. Secret? No. But hey folks it is already crowded we don't need to throw it on as headline news eh? I mean, whenever I get a tip, it is after hardwork and research. I earn it man, and so should you. Plus anyhow, walleye season ends on the 10th. I mean the 10th! I am also sick of people stringin up females full of eggs way after season closes. I play by the rules and show should you. They make rules because of a reason (namely so those marble eyes can reporduce for next year.) Get real, be cool, and obey the rules.

Mark too far for me to drive;) . Some spots cant handle extra fishing pressure or you just might like fishing it alone? Work hard and find your spots. Just don't boast about all the fish your getting. Its that simple, share the knowledge if you feel it can handle it. I've learnd a whole lot on this net and gave a little back. The one thing I learned on this site is there are a lot of fisherman out there who know a lot more than I do.

I hear that ed. There is something to be said regarding a location from undue pressure, as there is there something to be said for helping newbies out. It is a fine balance to play. I give tips, I take tips. I want to see fish next season too.

Mark, I think the walleye season ends on the 15 th not the 10th. Oh, and for what its worth, my favorite fly down there is an ESL.

May see you down there sometime;) Do you think the eyes should be coming in???? I want some for dinner, so, hopefully before the 15th. O, BTW, for those of yopu that dont know, the area from telegraph to flat rock may be the most heavily fished area on the river, or anywhere!!!! He was being sarcastic about the secret part.....

Please, let me get this straight.
Don't disclose where, when or how to fish a public location and never brag about the results:rolleyes:
That's it, I'm quitting this site;) It's not like we're handing out GPS coordinates here.
The "mine-mine, all mine" attitude just is'nt me.
