Even though I've been a member here for quite some time I thought it a good idea to introduce myself to some of the newer members and to help start this forum along.

My love is trout/steelhead fishing combined with fly tying. Heck, there are days that I'd just as soon tie flies then fish. I like to grab the gauge every so often in pursuit of birds or small game but like most I enjoy hunting deer with the string and stick, smoke pole or rifle.

During the winter I tie flies for the spring/summer and ice fish. I enjoy ice fishing but it mostly passes the time until the rivers are available for my drift boat.

Welcome to the new members and I look forward to seeing many of the friends I've made at previous outings at future ventures.

Hello all.... Been coming here since I dont know when, it has been so long. 4th grade teacher, this year, and love it. Love to reload, shoot my 06', fly fish (although I have yet to catch something while doing so), small game hunt, tie flies, camp, reload, shoot, etc....... Newly married to a wonderful woman whom ENCOURAGES all of my outdoor vices :) Have personally met MANY wonderful people from this site, much to the wonderment of my friends and family that think that I am nuts for heading to an new environment to meet up with "unknown" people from the internet that are carrying guns :) Ah well, their loss! Look forward to hearing from many more Michiganiacs here!!

I've been here for almost three years and have enjoyed the site immensely. The give and take, sometimes heated, in the various forums, the friendships that are built, the knowledge and compassion that are shared, all make this an excellent place to spend some time. For those who visit on a regular basis this place becomes akin to family.

My main outdoor pursuits involve deer hunting, trout fishing, trolling the big lake with my buddy Danno (who I met through MS), some small game hunting and other types of fishing fill the time as well.

It is stream trout fishing for upland trout that really gets my motor turning. I've had a love affair....my wife already knows...with stream trout fishing since the 5th grade.

I am married with four grown children. In '97 I retired from my profession as a school teacher after 31 years in the classroom. You guys n' gals that are not retired keep working, buy stocks, and keep that social security money coming in..........LOL!

For you new members I'd urge you to get to a Greet n' Meet if one is close and by all means keep an eye on the Outing Forum and attend one of these Outdoor Adventures. I've met a lot of guys in here and have yet to meet an ax murderer. Okay, Shoeman comes close, but his rehab seems to be taking nicely.....LOL! The outings are a ton of fun and you'll really begin to get a feel for the people who populate this place.
