This is a great idea!
New members, as well as the long time ones (I'll not mention the "o" word!!), Can introduce themselves to the rest of us. Do so by beginning a New Topic and telling us a bit about yourself.
I'd urge the membership to keep an eye on this forum thread and welcome the newcomers aboard this excellent party barge!!!

just a few things about me... I live in Traverse City, been a long time lite line salmon and steelhead fisherman. nothing like catching a king on 4lb. test(when there is not a crowd around).:D like to fish the big water, trolling for knigs, coho, browns, lakers. don't hunt yet, but would like to start. if I ever start buying guns like I do fishing rods, I will be in trouble!!!!!!:D :D :D also I LOVE cars, late and early model performance cars, and fishin' boats. love to cook, etc. I like to work with wood too. as well as a lot of different things. so, that i a little about me!!!

Welcome UBDS.... IF you start to buy guns like you do fishing rods? If you wish for that to NOT happen, DO NOT hang out with anyone on this site!! :) There are a TON of people here that will entice you to "try" this or that only to have you fully addicted to whatever vice they are a part of: trap shooting, reloading, bunny hunting, fly fishing, drifting for steelies, etc. Glad to have you aboard!! How did your "handle" come onto play?

UB,
We need to make a list of members who are in the area of TC, I include myself in that group, and get a Meet n' Greet together.

I agree Milt, count me in. Incidently, I think the Intro idea is great!! It's nice to find out a little about the guys I have messaged back and forth with as well as a chance for the new members to tell us about themselves.
While I'm here, I guess I might as well take this opportunity to introduce myself. I go by the username of Bucktail Butch because I make my own in-line bucktail spinners, primarily big ones for muskies and the occasional pike.
You can truly consider me an "old timer" (I won't take offense) since I'm 62 years old and retired. I've been a member of the site for a little over a year and learn something new every time I visit, usually a couple of times a day.
I retired as Postmaster of the village of Honor nearly three years ago, coming here from southwestern Michigan about ten years ago.
As I get older, I find that I fish more than I hunt (catch and release is more effective that way) although I still like to chase grouse and rabbits. I've been fortunate to have several very good friends and hunting/fishing partners over the years; two of the best have been taken by cancer within the last year. The point I'm trying to make is, enjoy your youth and please value and appreciate those close to you, none of us are here forever.
Thanks for the chance to "philosophize".

Butch,
It's good to "see" you again.
I understand how it is losing best friends. Five years ago I lost my best friend after he went through a two year battle with brain cancer.
Are the lakers still hitting well on Crystal?

Hi Milt,
Lakers have been pretty "spotty" for us this year. Three trips in a row, no fish. Then yesterday we went out for perch and ended up catching two lakers and a nice whitefish. Oh yeah, one sucker, too. No perch. It was a lot of fun catching the lakers on 2# line and UL panfish rods.
I'll let you know if they start hitting on any kind of a regular basis. If you want to join us sometime give me a shout.

I might as well post here too since I'm also from TC. :D If you guys get something together on the meet-n-greet thing, then count me in. New to this board, but not new to the outdoors  Life to hunt fish trap camp, basically if it involves being outdoors I love it

Avid,
Welcome to MS. This is an awesome site, perhaps the only similarly topiced site you'll ever need to visit. I'll put your name down on a list as a "local"....that's l-o-c-a-l as opposed to loco!!!
I'd suggest that you look at the General Discussion forums for the Introduction forum and put a post in there introducing yourself to the guys and gals. It's a new forum topic and it'll help you get acquainted.
