Well, another day off frustration. Indy Bridge Sunday AM. Did not get a real early start and managed a few 9-11" fish. Just when the graph started showing bigger marks coming off the bottom as well as near somebody opened the gates. There must of been 150 guys out there by 4:00 and all within a 100 yard area. You could talk to a guy next to you and not even raise your voice and he wasn't even with your group. Nice company but GEEEZE!! Needless to say all that racket and my graph went blank for the next 2 hours. Current was strong and the clairity was about 2' The guys next to us did mentioned that Sat night and early Sun there were some nice fish caught. Not many but a few dandys. It did not take long for the word to get around! Half of Bay City was out there and the only fish I saw iced between 4 & 6 were suckers. That is pretty poor for the amout of lines in the water. Ice was a good 8-9" Keep it dry. DC

I fished Friday out from the memorial park boat launch just north of the bridge and saw two guys go through the ice. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. I didn't even stay for the evening bite I got my butt off the ice....... Did see two nice fish caught in the morning just after daylight.

Lemme guess all those guys were in the middle of the channel there. Was funny 2 weeks ago we were gettting limits of big fish maybe 20 guys at msot fishing that mid channel. Evrybody goes and tells there brother 2 days later 120 guys out and not half as many fish. Was fun while it lasted.

Grew up in Saginaw fishing both Sag and Tib rivers and never heard of the 'Indy bridge'. I'm guessin' you speak of the Zilwaukee bridge.
Fish the Bay last Saturday. Six of us landed 14 fish - 2 to 7lbs. That's 54 man hrs. Good but not as good as last year this time.
Lookin' forward to April soft water!

Fished Melbourne tonight and had 2 fish that felt like keepers but not biting hard. Just enough to let you know they're there:mad: Bad news is the ice is in very bad shape and would not recommend going alone if at all. I am a die-hard ice fisherman but no fish is worth going in the drink:eek:(pretty good current tonight too) Some spots have about 6" and some are just slush. With this snow it could be very deceiving on whats good or bad. I myself am probably done with the river since the temps are on the rise and you will probably be seeing open water very soon!!! (upper 40's this weekend) There were a few others out tonight but seen no fish caught. Guess not my year for the river. Gonna get ready to drag the boat in if we still have time before it closes:D BE SAFE!! NOT STUPID!!:p

The guys were out off the indy bridge thicker than fleas on a dog the last couple of days. There's an open area and people were really crowding close to it, a few feet away in some cases. Those walleye must really love that sewage (which is why the spot opens up early every year).

Sorry for not spelling out exactly where Indy was. It was weird that most guys set up right on top of that open water discharge area. Some within 8' or so. I stayed up river 30-35 yards and I was still neverous! Saw a few even try to cast in to the open spot. I guess they forgot they were in 23' of water.GEEEEEZE! With the ice getting questionable not sure if I will go again this year on the river. I never am real comfortable on the Sag anyway. Current does funny things with the ice especially this time of year. May try off the state park one more time and then start thinking about getting my boat ready. Stay safe out there guys. I know there is still some good ice but there is a good chance that you might find a soft spot...That river is crazy and the walleye aren't right now...but they will be in soon...don't worry they will be coming!
