while fishing a small pond today huge bubbles were coming up into the holes - what is this ? - is this what i have read about the "water turning over" ? - i also wondered if it is melting the ice from the bottom up ?
thanks
Although microbial action slows in cooler water, it doesn't stop. The bubbles are most likely resulting from the releasing of gasses produced by decaying organic matter on the bottom.

It could possibly be a spring fed lake.
