Don't know what else to call them but noticed one out of selfridge towards the barracks. Its about 3X2 feet of open water.
Sure would'nt want hit one of those with a 4 wheeler.
Just a heads up.

Not sure if its the same One, but the one I saw is mark with a broom I think.

Yes...that is one of the many gas pockets that are in that area. When the ice stays white the gas colors it a little bit yellow...so sometimes the yellow spots will give them away. On a hot and quiet summer night out there you can hear them go "blurb-blurb" when they leak. Be very careful of them in the area of selfridge...and they don't seem to attract any fish either! I got a buddy who retired from the Marine Division of the sheriff dept...and he won't ice fish anywhere but on a canal cause he has been involved with pulling so many guys out that fell thru the ice at the gas bubbles....he might have more brains than me.....
