Study finds hunters start early

Responsive Management, a survey research firm in Harrisonburg, recently completed a five-phase study of kids ages 8 to 18 and what influences them to hunt and fish.

The company's executive director, Mark Damian Duda, said: "Research clearly indicates that active participation in hunting and fishing as an adult is directly related to active participation as a youth. Adult hunters and anglers typically started hunting and fishing before age 20 and their level of avidity as an adult is directly related to their avidity when young."
