Lake St. Clair is obviously one of the best lakes anywhere for Muskie. Trolling large body baits like Wileys and Lokes off the planer boards is very productive along with a down rod or two. Check out this site for some rigging and technique info.

If the Lincoln you are from is the one I am thinking of, you aren't too far away from one of my favorite spots for big northerns, the Thunder Bay River upstream from 23. Big fish and lots of snags for them to wrap you around. Stout tackle is a must. Can't beat LSC for muskie.

The lower river, in the many bays, and along rocky channels, such as the livingston, is just killer for nice sized pike in spring, i mean KILLER, some of these fish are 20+pounds!!!! We usually use body baits, they are there year round, but, in early spring, there are no weeds, so you can use body baits. We usually use medium-medium heavy rods, with 10 lb test, VERY lite tackle for these big boys....but, that is the way to go...

ESOX,
Yup you got the right lincoln...Ive heard of great fishing on thunder bay for both Smallies and Pike. I've always wanted to try it but i'm wary of rivers i'm not familiar with. Too many stumps. Plus i dont know of any spots to launch. Any more info would be great...Thanks

The stumps can be a bit problematic, but I think they are what keeps the area from being overfished. We generally launch in a jon boat and use electric power any time we are leaving the channel. High summer, you will find that most of the big fish are along the channel edges and in the holes in the channel itself anyhow. There is a launch just upstream from the paper mill in town.

Don't forget to fish the lake off the mouths of any rivers and creeks in your area that are dumping into L Huron during the smelt and sucker runs either. Not a numbers game, but the fish you get will be memorable. Catch and release, let those big hens keep on breeding.:)

I,get up that way once in a while. My mother lives on Perry Lake by Fairview.
I've caught a few pike at the Camp Ten rd. Piers, on Mio Pond.No monsters, though.
There used to be some in Perry Lake till they profiled it on Michigan Outdoors. Now it has alot of fisherman, but few fish.
I,would think that some of the ponds on the Au Sable, should hold some.
I've heard that Fletchers Pond and Hubbard Lake hold some, but have not fished them myself.

Hey east shore John I know of some great spots for pike. Probably the best is in Lake Huron. You catch hoggs out there. And there are some inland waters not to far from you that hold some tremendous fish as well. I have a place in Tawas so I fish the area quite a bit.
