My brother-in-law and I fished Chippewa Lake in Mecosta County Sunday morning for Crappies. We ended up with 31 up to 11.5", fishing from about 10:00am till 1:00 pm. We fished in a channel in 2-5 foot of water with minnows and slip bobbers. When we cleaned the fish, we found they were all females with tight egg sacks. I think this means they could be around a while yet.
