Help on Saginaw River!

What is the main way they take fish on Saginaw River on opening day? Entered in the MMWA Tournament, Saturday and have never done this before. Have done good jig fishing before season closes, but never been back after it reopens. Want to know if they still catch them on a jigging minnow or should I switch to drifting harnesses or possibly trolling rapalas. Anybody that has fished this tournament before, any tips would be helpful. Thanks much!

Last year opener had lots of luck with jig heads and minnows. Slowing the boat drift down with a troller and bouncing the bottom worked well for us. Also jigging raps took a few but had better luck withthe jig heads. Chartruese and orange seemed to be the colors of the day at that time. Haven't been out yet this year but this week sometime for sure. Hope this helps and isn't to late. Keep them tight.
