I found some of the new heavy divers. Got them at Franks in Linwood.

I could get the regular divers down to 90 ft with braided line. These should help to go down a bit faster?
I also bought the last of their custom bombers. So unless they plan on ordering another 144 dozen, you can get them from me for $20 a piece.

How are heavy diver's pkg's labeled so I can tell the difference. Also, what makes the Bomber 'custom', are they labeled that way on the pkg ?
Thanks...

I think they are called Magnum Dipsies...I have seen them on an internet site...they say that you can get them to dive 100feet...

Sat in on a freebie seminar by a L.J. rep last week. He said they have not completed their testing yet to know for sure how far they run. They have a super ring on them and should cost about the same as a regular diver with the same colors available.
Interesting comment made by him. "Run 20 - 30 lb mono with deep divers. The flea's cannot get their hooks onto it, less stretch (then standard mono size) and overall better hookups compared to braid".
They also have "tuned" the kwick fish (J13's only) to run them side by side with a J-plug. Can pull them at higher speeds. Next year they will "re-mold" other sizes for the same reasons. Could be another 100 baits we have to have aboard (ha, ha).
spendit: I sat in on a similar seminar, maybe the same one even.
D+R Sports in Kalamazoo has them in stock now, along with the "Monster" rings for them which also fit the size 1 dipsys.
I never could get superline dipsys under 65ft or so at 2.5-3mph'ish on 30lb power pro, even with 400ft+ out. Im hoping these mags will get a little deeper, and dive a little steeper. Thinking about putting them on the wire rigs, too.

Hey Jaid, where in Kzoo is D+R? Maybe I should check them out.
Im not sure if its even technically kalamazoo, it might be oshtemo. But its right off west main (M43) about 3 miles west of US131.
All their luhr jensen stuff is 15% off right now, too, because of the luhr jensen seminar they had last week.
They are having a seminar this thursday at 6pm on leadcore/longlining/spring fishing.

I've been using Super Discs for several years. I got mine from Dream Weaver (Roger Bogner) at the Budwiser Pro/Am at Manistee years ago. They will take my Dipsys down to 100' or more using 50-lb. Ripcord. In fact, I took more than half my salmon last year running my Dipsys down within 10' of bottom.

Inthenet - The only place I have seen these colors of bombers in the last 2 years is Franks in Linwood. They don't cost any extra. The top one is a "Monkey Puke", I have not run it yet. The middle one called "Purple Demon". It is very similar to a "Michael Jackson", but no black on the top and it has a glitter painted into it. The bottom one is called "Cheap Sunglasses". If you do have some these, let me know and I will come down and scoop them up cause I bought all that Franks had and that still was not enough.
Trophy Specialist - You are right about the superrings. But also note the new weight on the dipsy. It is much larger and the added weight is going to help out when August gets here. Hopefully the days of the 325 ft High diver are gone with this new diver.
All this diver stuff is getting way to confusing now. Mag rings, Magnum divers, slide divers. It is going to be near impossible for your friends to try and reproduce the same setup. I can imagine the radio chatter now...

You know you can buy stick on wheel weights for mags and make you own heavy divers we've been duing it for years. I though I put that in the dirty trick story.

I don't think that a little extra wieght on a diver will make it dive all that much deeper. It might make it track better though. I've tried adding clip wights ahead of Dipsys and even with a 4-oz. weight ahead of the Dipsy, it didn't affect the diving depth much at all. Slower trolling speeds, thin line diamiter and a bigger disc will add depth though. When fishing deep, a slower troll (reguardless of the lure) will typically yeild more bites anyway.
