Livin' eye minnows

Has anybody seen Cabela's Livin' Eye Minnows first hand ?
I think they could be pretty effective. I think I will wait until they are available on the regular market. Somebody is private labeling these for them at this point. I don't like these "kit" presentations.

What does everyone think?

When an angler is using soft plastic baits, they know how fast the body of the bait gets damaged and a new bait is then put on the hook. Just the simple task of pulling a soft plastic bait through moss/weeds pulls the body away from the hooks.

Now add the extra weight of these eyes and it looks as if they would hang up a bit more than a bait without them. I think this extra addition to a soft plastic bait will hinder the life span and action of the bait.

Let's assume that everything is ok with these eyes. We know how many lizards, grubs and worms we use on a trip. Well, these eyes do not appear to be reusable, which means the angler will be going through many eyes on a trip also.

I'm not too sure this isn't something made to catch an angler instead of fish.

Yes, I agree it seems like many of the new lures on the market are designed more for catching anglers. Point in case; The Banjo minnow and the flying Lure. They must not have been too effective cause you can't find them in any stores anymore. The one thing I like about the Cabela's minnow is the colors, They look really natural, however the are probably no more effective as a pearl or white twister.

I got one of the kits (which I do not care for myself) and they look pretty good. I have not used them yet but this spring I'll try them out for some bass or walleye. I can rig one of my ice rods this weekend and give a report of that vs. a live minnow for perch if you would like.
