After reading some of the posts about smoking, I decided to dig mine out of the corner of the basement. Did some hard-boiled eggs and a chicken.

Was having trouble maintaining 150 degrees on my electric with the wind chill in the teens so I grabbed a piece of carpet scrap and placed it on end around my smoker. Did the trick! Ended up with a fine chicken and some rubber eggs! Did them in mesquite chips. Looking for apple but can't find any at the local Meijers...

Looking for more recipes....:)

Find a local apple tree and do a little pruning. Don't have to soak it either its still green.

On my tree I do the just the normal pruning that I would normally do. They are usually 1/2 in. in size or smaller. I'm not talking cutting a whole branch, just the normal whips and sprouts.

Your local gander mountain store has a ton of differant types of wood. I just picked up about 10lbs of apple, Also where I work there clearing a lot of apple trees to build a new house, I`m going to try to get some.
