I was in the Lakeside Fishing II store in Farmington Hills on Monday and they told me they are going to close. Bummer.
But, everything in the store is now 25% off.

It is a major bummer for all of us west siders. It was the last place like it on this side of town.

I'm devistated:( . I'll have to go there and talk to Craig. Great guy really knows his fishing especially fly fishing. I seen him at the SCS store a couple weeks ago. I wonder if he is transfering. Last I heard the SCS store was moving, maybe there combining the 2 .

That is a bummer. I was never a very frequent customer there but whenever I was passing by the area I always stopped in to see what was going on. They always seemed to have a really good selection of things I had problems getting elsewhere...

I went to Lakeside II today and found $550 worth of stuff I just HAD to have. Rod holders, downrigger mounts, spoons, rods...I'm set for Kings this year.

It isn't very often, in fact I would say never, that you can buy Pursuit and Bert's Custom Tackle items at 25% off. Those items are always price locked.

They have a good selection of St. Croix rods, 25% off, Loomis rods, 25% off, these rods are never discounted this much.

There is still plenty of stuff there, go get it!

HE dont know me by name, but he knows who I am when he sees me. I used to go in that store at lunch all the time. Thats too bad, He has told me alot of valuable info for a rookie fly fisherman. Oh well maybe I willl see him on the huron, I know he fishes there. Maybe I will stop into the store and speak to him. Any body know how much longer the store will be open and if they will increase discounts?

I went Lakeside yesterday and was kinda disappointed,, they gave me 25% off of my "total", not each item. I also noticed that, after the 25% off, that brings the total down to what the stuff is "normally" priced (anywhere else). Geez,,, was that place EXPENSIVE! I thought I was in Gaylan's for a minute, there. I remember years ago,, Lakeside was about the ONLY place you could go, to find EVERYTHING. I think the internet, mail-order catalogs, and the super stores( Cabelas, BPS's) are what, did Lakeside in. Now that I'm done pissin' and moanin' about their store,, I did find some real "odd-ball" rod holders in there, that I haven't seen ANYWHERE else, they mounted in my shanty, PERFECTLY, and I couldn't be happier. Thanks Lakeside.:D

Not sure what the difference is??

All tackle shops in michigan are alittle high on there prices for tackle, because there isn't much of a margin on the bait that they sell.

25% off the total is the same as 25% off each individual item..... unless maybe you paid tax on the total which is sometimes the case.......

I challenge anyone to find me a retailer that will see me Pursuit Rod holder for 25% off retail. The cheapest I've got them for is $65.99. Lakeside was $69.99 less 25% ($17.50) so that's $52.49.

That's a good deal!

Well I went there as well this week. I picked up a pair of ice creepers. I mostly deal with Len, but know John and the others.

My opinion on prices and such is this,I dont mind paying a little more. The knowledge and inventory these guys had was invalueable.
Because they live and fish here they gave accurate reports.
The aforementioned superstores in most cases hire a bunch of gomers from out of state. No offense to any body who works at those places.
