Check the local bait shops and see what they're saying about Burt Lake (probably about 30+ minute drive depending on where you're at in Petoskey). That lake holds what you're looking for, as do others of course. My uncle also tells me they're catching decent perch out from the boat launch in Boyne City (about 20 minute drive) on Lake Charlevoix, and there have been known to be walleye in that area as well...

Walloon lake has gills, trout, perch and eyes.
crooked and pickerel have gills and perch
Mullet lake (maple bay) has perch, trout and eyes
When you stop at the local bait shop they can give you directions to the landing on these lakes
Now for the report! They are all slow.:(
The ice around here is really hard going with quads. If you don't have a 4x4 one with chains It's really going to be hard.
good luck.

Shad- Have two brothers-in law who live there that are outdoor nuts. Things have been slow but weather changes can turn things around in a hurry. Burt is a good bet along with Crooked for perch and walleye and pike. Crooked also gives up a few browns as well. The bait shop in Alanson and the one in Petosky will give you good info. I know at times the perch at the launch at Harbor Springs is a good place to try. Good Luck- Dream Catcher

Yeah, I definitely agree about the launch in Harbor Springs. It's been a number of years since I've been able to get up there to do it, but we use to pull in a lot of really good size perch in that area. That's definitely worth looking into to see if that situation still exists.
