I've never fished Gull Lake, where can you launch your boat there. I've drove around it
before and didn't see a launch ramp. I'd like to try fishing the lake if I can launch my boat
there.

The boat launch is at the north end of the lake. It gets heavy pleasure boat traffic in the summer months. They regulate the number of watercraft on the lake during that time..
I have not fished that lake ever, though have heard that there is a pretty decent lake trout fishery, and some good perch fishing around the area called the Bible Conference.
You might want to try Gun Lake which is a little farther north, but, I think might be a better lake for general fishing. Sherman Lake which is just south of Gull or Little Long Lake which is just west might be good also
My family rents a cottage on Gull during the summer and I see very little fishing action on that lake.

I have fished this lake for a mojority of my 40 yrs. It has one of the best growth rates in sw. mich. In this lake you can catch rainbows, browns, very few lakers, pike, large & small mouthed bass, nice gills and perch, specs, rockies, gars, cats and suckers( white) and smelt. They are trying to reintroduce the smelt. I fish the lake often, but the best time is during the week, the weekend traffic beats the fish down, and its too frustrating to try to fish. The pleasure boaters usually start showing up at 10-11 am on the weekends, and many times the park is full by noon or 1. There are also many bass tourneys here and they tie up the parking for many weekends too.Beautiful lake, awsome fishing, but way too crowded.Watch out for the sand bars, rocky shoals and lots of floating docks/swim platforms!

MIBow,
I have fished Sherman lake through the ice for crappie. I entered through the park, but I don't know of an access, is there one, and where?

There is a public access across the lake from the boy scout camp. There are signs if you start looking after you pass the golf course.

Thanks for all the info. Sounds like a busy lake in the summer. I'd like to get over and try it in the next week or so. Thought I mite try for some of those rainbows and browns. What's the best part of the lake this time of year to fish for trout??

The June 2001 issue of Michigan Hunting and Fishing has an article discussing Gull Lake along with DNR netting and shock results. A topo map is also included.
I just got it in the mail yesterday. I am sure you can find the issue at a sporting goods store or a book store.
