Lake Erie Walleyes Hurry!!!!

The word is that get to Lake Erie soon!
The ice is 8 to 10 in. and still have to watch the wind for changes but that is the norm on Erie. Walleye"s in the 5/6# range near Green's Island and South Bass good #'s. We left from Catabaw State launch. Sweedish Pimple's and Cicadas, also Crocodile's 26 to 30 ft tipped with a minnows, don't be to agressive on the jig stroke, the day we were there 27 fish for 3 people smalllest 18in. up to 27.5. One thing to remeber if you get in trouble CARRY VHS HAND HELD AT ALL TIMES, tis is big water folks things can go to **** in a hurry if your not prepared, I would also recomend that G.P.S wouldn't take up to much room either.

I would be very cautious if venturing out on the ice around the Lake Erie Islands. This past week-end the CG had to pluck some anglers off of the ice which was breaking apart.

I'm sure Pat will tell you if it is safe to fish on the ice. Also keep in mind the temps will be in the high 30's or low 40's this week-end, which will put a bigger strain on the ice than exists already.
