When I was in college at SFA in Nacogdoches back in the early 70's a friend of mine who had just transferred over from UT Austin told me that as part of a Graduate project a young woman student in the Psychology Program went to a bar to test people's reactions to embarrassing situations. When a guy approached her to ask her to dance she yelled out, "You want me to do WHAT?", and the poor guy had to slink back to his chair with everyone in the place staring at him like he was some kind of pervert. Later, the woman came over to the guy to explain that it was a just an experiment in her psychology class but before she finished explaining the guy hollered out: "FIFTY DOLLARS?"
