Hit the evening bite on my home lake Magician Lake at around 6pm. We managed to find quite a few fish in the shallow flats. Most were of good size. We decided to let most of them go. Kept a few good eaters and enjoyed the evening on the water. The key to finding these finicky crappie is finding shallow cover. 5-15 ft. of water will do the trick, but you gotta find some cover for the fish to cling to.

See ya on the water,

Mark-

what were you using? Only place I've ever taken crappie is way back to the right of the launch in a corner channel.

I usually nail large gills on a small spinner like mepps roostertail...in the red or silver colors.
