Hit the ice around 2 or so and started nailing the 'gills on waxies and spikes on tear drops. I was in about 6-7fow and most hits were about 3-4 ft down. Mostly 6" fish, nothing bigger. Then after a half hour or so, the fish had lockjaw. Couldn't buy a bite. Changed colors, depth, action, location...everything.
It seemed like the temperature dropped a bit and the wind picked up a little when the fish turned off.

I tried the pond a little over a week ago on a Sunday. First time I ever fished it in the winter (only 2 times in the summer). I had similar results to what you described. Caught a lot of gills and a few specs, but like you said, none too big. Most of mine didn't even get near 6." Have you had experiences there where you've caught much bigger fish? I'm just wondering if it's worth trying a couple more times.
We were fishing over near the dock, toward the other side of the pond. At least when the fish weren't biting there was a hockey game to watch. That's a pretty neat setup they've got there, with even a couple fire pits going so the kids can get warmed up...

Years ago I caught some decent panfish there in the summer. Last summer a bunch of us from the club did a fly outing their and the fish were on the small side.
I'm gonna try it a couple more times as it is fairly close to home.
