How are the ice conditions?

Poor on any but the smallest lakes. Three guys went through on Long Lake in Grand Traverse County on Saturday. My neighbor was on that same lake Friday in a different area and there was 8-10" of ice where he was. He said that 50' away the ice was 4" thick. Too much insulating snow has been laying on the ice. It was below zero every night last week and none if any ice was made. It's not going to get much better any time soon. We've had 30" of fresh snow since 9pm last night.
