Went out w/ my dad and Lab to chase a few bunnies this afternoon. Dusting of fresh snow helped point out the fresh tracks. We jumped about ten in the three hours we were out and got six. The dog flushed two on his own that we got and I dogged two back around to my dad. Good year for rabbits in our area( 11 in two trips). I enjoy just getting out and chasing them. I have a few in the freezer and am pricing some 22 pistols to make it a even a little more fun. I am able to access my galleries and others for the first time in about a year so there is a pic in there. Now I will have to figure out how to post.

I have been unable to view or post until lately. I will spend a little time now and figure how how to post w/ a pic. I am lucky enough to be working mostly nights and have time to spend w/ my dad during the day for a few hours. We had a good time and jumped a couple more at the end that we passed on since we had enough for a while. Thanks!!!

"Illbeoutside" love the picture!! I have several beagles that I hunt with and I have 6 acres fenced in with rabbit proof fence. I have plenty of cover in it and work my dogs in there a little in between hunts. I also have a chocolate lab that just found out how much fun it is to jump rabbits. Actually I have seen her track them and jump them where they had sat. I recently bought a T/C Encore pistol with the 45/410 barrel 15 inches long. That is a blast trying to hit running rabbits with it . I thought it would be easy and I sure was wrong. I have taken three and I am sure I have missed over a dozen. I went from 3 inch #4 shot to 3 inch # 6 and it is a little better. I have taken a few with my bow but will only try them when they stop . Have Fun !!

I have a blast watching him out there. We went out for a couple of hours today but it was tough going. There is too much snow now(12+ inches) and they are staying very close to the holes. We jumped four and got a shot at one that we managed to get before it got to the hole. He is usually right when he gets locked on a scent or doesn't want to leave a brush pile. I have kicked many piles and walked away only to have him stay on it and run a rabbit out. I tend to believe him now. Hope some of the snow melts down. Rough walking out there.

I am without a Beagle for now so I've been taking my lab, she pushs some out but its not the same as having a good Beagle. All you guys that have good beagles if you have a young one you need to get rid of send it my way. After hunting with Beagles for as long as I can remember its not the same without one. Nice cold sunny and calm morning and the excited howl of a good Beagle, just a little slice of heaven. Go get em!
