Rabbit Hunts!!

I dont know wabout you guys, but I love those winter rabbit hunts put on by clubs. Do you guys know of any of them which are comng up that are less than an hour drive from Ionia? I usually hunt the Ionia hunt and the Portland. We'v faired very well the last few years. So I was just wondering how many of you hunt these and enjoy the company, and eveything invlolved with them, and which hunts do you go to, and also which hunts are coming up.

Never been to one. How much do they usually cost and what's included in the package?

Usually they cost about 5 bucks to get in...you go out to your own spot hunt bunnies come back talk to other sportsmen, basically have a good time at the club, they usually give you a raffle ticket for every rabbit you got, then raffle off prizes, and you can usually buy tickets for other raffles, they usually serv food, and will take the rabbits if you dont want them, it's just a good way to spend a weekend day.

That's pretty cool. I wouldn't mind trying that sometime. Do they let you hunt in groups? My brother-in-law has a couple of pretty good beagles and I like to hunt with him, his dogs, and a few friends. Sounds like a blast!

When you guys find out more information, I would like to know the when and where for one of these hunts. I really love to hunt rabbits. Bows, 22's, shotguns. Anywhere, anytime.(hopefully)

Well i know the Ionia hunting and fishing club holds a hunt at the end of january or beginning of Feb.?? One or the other, and another I go to is the Portland hunt which is in Feb. You can hunt with whoever and wherever you please, and use any weapon, and dogs, however you hunt them is fine. You just have t have your own spot. You usually go in and check in in the morning b4 the hunt then hunt and come back to check in your rabbits, then the raffles are held. I'll try to find the dates and pass them on to you if you'd like them. I usually go out with a pack of my ncles friend and 2 dogs.. lat year 7 of us shot our limit of 35 in 3 hours...believe it or not!! We're just very gifted with great spots to hunt...pine tree farms, overgrownn orchardes and thick creek bottoms. If yo want more info just respond or pm me.
