I just got back from there, I didn't catch anything worth talking about. Everyone I talked to had the same story to tell, nothing but dinks. I was fishing off the public access next to Selfridge. Maybe I'll give it another try tomorrow, if not I'll be heading out to Metro.

How thick was the ice? How far was you out? I was thinking on going down there next week.
This is slowpoke and I am up at my friends place at Houghton Lake. I went out this morning and only got 4 bluegills, seen more on camera but couldn't get them to bite. I went around lake and found where a lot of people are fishing by the cut river, gave a call on radio but never got a answer. I think I will try there tomorrow.
I went up to Higgins and seen some people out there also. I talk to two that came in and they said there was 2 or three " of ice where they was and that was not enought. cya.

Hello,
This is my first time with a reply. I am not quite sure if I am doing this right. My friend, slowpoke316@webtv.net
stopped by my house on Saturday and logged onto my webtv. I live at Houghton Lake and he had been on the lake and had been also on Higgins Lake Saturday. The ice is about 3-4 Inches where he was at on Higgins. He did not mention any open water on Higgins. With the cold coming in this week. Ice should be better on Higgins up coming weekend. Remember the next two weekends up here at Houghton Lake is Tip Up Town weekends. Buy your gas down state. Great fishing.

Fished from sun-up to sun-down with a buddy. We each caught 10 perch for a total of 20. Bad news was that only two were keepers. One 11.75" and one 10.00"
My buddy also caught a sunfish (I believe that's what it was).
The water was murky and the ice was 4"

Houghton laker; Guess we were to far apart to here you Sat. I did here some static try to come in Sat. I did get you Sun. on the radio but I was on foot with a ton of stuff and couldn't move around much. Next time I will have my Sportsman. I didn't get anything Sun. buy the cut, I don't think I was in the cut, water was only 7' deep where I was. I got 4 nice gills Sat. I wll not go up to tip-up-town so see you next time I go up I hope.
Higgins lake was froze over and there was some brave soles {may be dum soles}. I was told there were 2" to 3" of ice. I can wate.
