first choice for perch

what is your first bait of choice for LSC perch?

after the fish we caught last year, on Erie, i plan on tying on my perch pattern jigging Rapala, tipped with a small minnow on the head hook.

Wigglers were by far my best bait last year. Granted, they're expensive but they are well worth it...

I had my best luck on wigglers until last year. When the jumbos had lock-jaw I switched to the smallest teardrops tipped with waxworms. They slammed 'em! Thanks to my dad who convinced me to try his old faithful technique :) The tear drop was his hand made- reddish/orange in color. Very small. Anyways, can't wait to get out..couple weeks late this year.
