Ok guys everything is frozen. And the lake has enough ice that there were about a dozen guys a good quarter mile out. A few in the north and only a few in the channel by the boat launch. As word has it, it was slow. Remember it’s 2004 so the old 2003 annuals are no longer good.

I walked on water by the Metro day sail ramp. At least a 100 yds out with decent ice (3''). The water is cloudy. I didnt get any bumps after a couple of moves and left.

Johnny, I took my spud and walked to the narrowest area beteween the island and shore. It took 2 hits to go thru. Maybe by Saturday.

Imaredneck, you have to be carefull between the docks and dog island, just prior to where it narrows (as if you were walking towards the lake to get around the island) I think there is a current there. I put my foot through there with a foot of ice every where else. It's alwys a good place to spud your way.

I talked with one (and only) guy that was coming back in at metro off the lake, right at dark. He said that the ice was "about 4" thick and he didn't get any hits.

Didn't see anyone fishing the basin or signs of any fresh holes either. Seems as though it should be OK in the marina....

I'll be out somewhere on monday... about time!

I'll be out there in the Metro Beach area Sunday, whrerever there is decent ice. Maybe I'll see some of you guys out there.

Looks like Saturday will be the best day but cold... Be careful on Sunday!!! Winds up to 20mph might blow you out... Keep safe and enjoy!!! I'll be up in Fairhaven all day Saturday and Sunday I'm steering clear...

That's where I went through, I learned the hard way. Take Ed's advice. :)

Checked Selfridge. It looked like a pressure crack opened up just off of shore-- approx 60 foot wide. Be carefull --it will look frozen. not a person on the lake there. prob 50 pluss behind the bait store.

Metro sail ramp. 8 or 9 guys out. ice is 3.5 inch 1/4 mile out and down to 2.5 after. spoke with people who stated water is still pea soup, no fish. There were guys all the way out to the pointe of Metro trying to find clear water---Good for them--- not advised yet.

Metro basin. saw a few guys all over I did not stop to see how things are there.

Good luck everyone be safe and watch the winds as the sail ramp Sunday.

i fished the boat basin by the docks - caught a 2.5" perch - other than that SKUNK CITY - ice was only about two maybe three inches - there were quit a few brave ? ? ? souls out on the lake
