Flyfisher and I fished for more pike today. We trolled the dawn patrol hoping for a big eye or pike, but the bite was dead. We mixed it up and did some casting, jigging, and more trolling to no avail in the weedy windblown shoreline.

We motored upwind to the black bouy and decide to troll some deeper water and found some fish. Riggers about 10' off bottom glass #12 white husky jerk did damage. Nothing real sizable, but boated 9 fish for the afternoon efforts to salvage a day.

I'd see a big mark just off bottom, lower the rigger in its face and fish on. Rick got a his share including his first legal pike ever.

All in all a great day on the water, and probably my last til spring thaw. Nice fishing with you rick.

Way to go Guys...

When I talked to you around ten or whatever time that was and you hadn't had a bite yet I was worried for you...But you sure did salvage that trip for numbers anyhow...haha...

How come it took you like four trips to get me on fish and only one trip for somebody else????:p

Thanks, Tim! It was a good time...too bad we didn't know in advance that the bite was going to hold off until noon. I owe you a trip now...maybe I can get you into some river steelies somewhere once the "artic blast" is over, or we can try my boat next time? Who would have thought that the riggers would have been the ticket, and what about that "colorless" bait you were using? Guess I will have to add one of those to my arsenal? Thanks again and talk to you later!
