Woke up this morning at 6:30 and took a peek at the temps. HIPPEE!!!! 18 degrees. I called my brothers and got them up and said lets hit a lake for a little ice fishing. We decided to meet at 8:00 on a little lake that I hammered the gills on before this last warm up. The fishing was a little slower than it was 4 days ago but we managed to get enough for a meal for each of us. Color did not seem to matter I could not find the one they could not resist alot of fish would look and swim away. The smallest gill was 7" never measured the biggest but they are going to be tasty.

Heres Joe. Maybe 22 degrees and blue jeans.

Sweet start!!!
Great catch Mondrella!
I'm also curious bout ice thickness and where ya found 22 degree weather in Lower MI on 1-1-04. It's still 37 degrees right now in Grand Haven.

Congrats on the Great start!

There was about 3" of ice but the whole time there it was poping and cracking makeing more.:) Yes this is a lake near B.R. 99% of my ice fishing takes place right around home. Many of the lakes around here are not all that safe yet. Next weekend every thing should be fishable.
