Question. What is the best way to drill / cut holes for perch spearing? How big should the hole be?
Thanx in advance.

My shanty has a 2x2 ft hole I can use. I drill (6) 10in holes with my power auger, then spud out in between the holes(usually about 1-2in) and lift out the ice block.

We Just Use A Chain Saw, With A 24" Bar. Make Sure The Oil Is Run Out Of The Machine Before Using On The Ice. The Water Becomes Your Lubercant For The Chain. We Cut A Hole 2' Wide x 6 to 8' Long. Then We Use The Old Fasion Ice Tongs To Pull The Blocks Of Ice Out.
