View Full Version : Sag Bay Perchin 12/21
fished the bay north of linwood from 3pm till just after dark
caught 22 between 7-9", with one 13.5" horse that was at leas 1.25lbs
about 200 yards out and only 2 FOW
caught everything on flourescent pink hook and glow in the dark bead and wigglers
18 of the fish were caught in about 20 minutes after the sun went below the horizon..totally crazy action!!!
they clearly spook easily, so i recommend first light or last

Nice catch. I was out on 12/21 but with little success. Pinconning was my first stop early. That area has been good to me with first ice and getting out early but not this time. Gave it up and moved to Palmer but by the time we got there it was to late for the early fishing. To much racket!!! Tried to move around the crowd for the late bite but it was not to be. The few keeper fish we did see did not seem interested in our minnow offerings even when we down sized our jigs. Will have to remember to adjust our menu the next time. Will be out 12/27 or 28 if the weather does not make the ice conditions any worse. Be safe--Dream Catcher

I fished Sunday off Palmer and saw a total of 3 fish caught in 2.5 hours between all the guys out there. I stopped by Linwood on the way home and didn't see anybody on the ice at that time; it was broken off where it normally does there when a NW wind blows up this time of year. I *knew* I should've gone out instead of staying in the nice warm car. :(
Good job on the fish man.
