West MI ice 12/19

Checked a few lakes and No safe ice yet. Getting real close tho.
One exception was Baker lake, one lonely set of foot prints went out on the ice and and rounded the corner out of sight, and yes there was a return set of prints too :eek:
After the little warm up Sunday and monday, i think we will be about a week away.

Today I'm checking some small ponds... I'm frying up my last batch of gills today, so in need to get out BADDDD;)

Nothing going yet in the GR area either.

found a couple lakes north of GR. it seems like the lakes either have 1 inch or 4inches (YES 4). This is probably because the lakes that stayed frozen through that warm/ rain a week and a half ago, have 4 inches or so. Fishing is slow though.....

I just had bluegill fillets and Morels and now I'm out of gills. I just might have to drive north in the next few days to get more gills.
Anyone know how the Lakes near Reed city are?
