I'm going up to visit relatives for a few days and wondered if anybody knows the ice conditions in Pike/Chassell Bay.

It is the closest lake to where I am staying and you can PM me if you wish... but I don't think there will be a mad dash of folks there!

The bay in Chassel has some ice. The Channel into portage lake had open water last time I was down that way (Tuesday).
Doesn't look like anyone's out to the "humps" yet. We got hit with some snow so that slowed things down.

You could give Superior bait and tackle a ring...906-523-4944. They'd have a good idea of who's getting what out there. Early ice for pike is usually good there.

Thanks... I sure hope it's safe. This will be my first time ice fishing this spot. My uncle's house is on the lake. It will be nice if I can just walk out the back door and drill a hole!
