Fished in the canal behind the bait shop today, ice is 3" thick.
1 1/2 to 2" out at the end of the canal. Again caught about 40 perch with only 3 over 8". Stopped biting completely about 3:30. Used a red bead tipped with a spike. Got a few big gills between 4:00 and 5:00, but not many. All and all, a pretty slow afternoon.
I would like to thank a gentleman named Willie for driving me back to the access to get my car when a parking spot opened up behind the bait shop. Not too many people would stop their fishing to do that for a complete stranger. Me and bad back appreciate not having to make that 1/3 mile walk. Thank you again sir!!!
