metro boat basin

My dad fished there today. About 2" of ice. 2 small perch. He said it was definitely worth it.

Where is metro boat basin at? I want to go give it a shot Saturday but don't know where it is, thanks.

the metro beach back basin is in metrobeach metro park. Basically take 16Mile road (metro parkway) east and it goes right into the park, hence the name. It is like 4 bucks or something to get in. once you are in, take a left and that is the back basin. If you need bait take a right at jefferson before going into the park and there will be a bait shop/party store on the lefthand side basically right there.

The canal that goes along the road is a good gill and sunfish area all the way towards where it dead ends. May try that Sunday, Selfridge is pretty slow right now:)

Fished the back basin this afternoon. Picked up a few but had to work real hard for them. Most out there where catching fish but the size isn't there. Also tried the canal off the swamp with only one fish in about an hour. Ice in the canal is only 2-2.5 thick. I has the only one on it.
