Just wanted to get an early post out for people that want to plan accordingly....I will be running the Higgins Lake Winterfest 2004 Fishing Contest again this coming year. Date is February 21st, 2004, plan on having around $1,500.00 in prizes, includes a big kids fishing division and adult, perch and lake trout and I'm hoping a smelt contest a week prior to the date. Need to have a $5 Winterfest badge to enter fish(adult division), kids division is free, badges should be available middle of January.

Last year was basically the first year and some "smaller" fish took home some great prizes and alot of people were surprised at the quality of prizes, no different this year!!!!

I'll post more later on the whole fishing event and Winterfest activities as well. Hope to see ya there.

I'll make sure to come up then. Does Billy Statler(sp) fish it, cuz I'd like to get back in touch with him because I'd like to land a trout this year and he used to fish them regular.

Hey Slowpoke, that was a good perch and alot of people that fish Higgins would appreciate having a dozen or so of them anyday of the week. I think what BB is trying to say was compared to the quality of the prize(prizes) that there were some smaller perch that took home some great prizes. Another Great Wolf prize will be hard to get but I'll try if not, don't worry I'll have something worth the while! Unless BB of Higgins Sports would like to donate a few hundred $$$$ so I can get the Great Wolf again!?!?! :D  :D ;) :p
