I've got some lakes near by that are stocked for trout. What is the way that you find most effective for catching them through the ice?

I would try wigglers on the smallest treble hook you can find suspend with the smallest bobber that will support it on about 2lbs test line if the trout are large try emerald shiners on the same setup, they will also hit wax worms and spikes fish just like you do for bluegills

for small perfectly balanced bobbers for extremely light hitting fish like finicky walleye try taking out packing freight peanuts, the non-biodegradable type.
slice the peanut with a sharp blade then squeeze the line into it. Then trim off piece until it barely supports your line.
Then the slightest drop you know it's something.

I used to use a very tiny tear drop or a tiny treble hook and split shot with a minnow. This worked very well for me on Bear Lake in Kalkaska county.
