That looks GREAT!!! What did you use? I have been trying to think of something that I could use to put PATCH on the side of mine but can't think of anything that won't flake or peal off when the shanty is folded and unfolded.....Patch

I did mine last year. I'll see how it holds up. Used spray paint, 3 lite coats.

Hope to see you there sometime Steve.

On this one I used fabric paint.

Well there lies the problem. First I had put one of our bumper stickers on that stuff and it didn't just peel off, it just plain fell off all in one piece. I got an orange opaque permanent marker and shadowed it with a black marker. I don't know just how "permanent" it will be however. If I wipe semi-hard with my finger it does tend of come off a bit and it looks like when it's folded the marks tend to get some cracking in them. We shall see,... it might be back to the drawing board.

As you can see I didn't leave enough room for the .com either ;)

Pictures of my shelving project are coming tomorrow.

i like the fabric paint idea walleye mike how has it held up?

Haven't got the shanty out yet. Expecting the fabric paint to hold up better than the spray paint on the plastic tarp one. That one might crack. Thats why I put on lite coats, hoping it won't crack. Also cleaned it first with acetone to make sure it sticks.

Fabric paint was bought at Michael's craft stores.

Was thinking about making a name for mine outta the Iron_on decal kit for my laserjet printer...When I do, I'll let ya know how it holds up.

Either that or make a larger Patch type logo, and sew it on

FABRIC PAINT. Never thought of that one. Good idea! I was going to try to make letters out of Duct Tape but just figured that they would end up pealing off. Great, now I have something else to do. LOL!!.....Patch

Why not paint the web address and username on some canvass and then stich it on the shanty. If you stiched along the seems of the shanty material it might prevent the stich holes turning into rips. Plus after you stich it cover it with some sort of fabric tape. Plus of you every want to sell the shanty and the buyer does not want the printing it can be removed.

I would try this idea but I first need a shanty

I do a little airbrushing, and when I do a tee shirt you have to run an iron over the paint to "set it" so it doesn't wash off in the washing machine. Maybe this could work on the ice shanty's too. Just don't have the temp too high cause I don't know if the plastic will hold up to the heat.

Man you guys rock. That looks awesome. Why blend in with the rest when you can stick out. Great Idea for meeting up with other members unknowingly fishing the same water.

Shelf supports use 3 way 1/2" pvc connector with a 6-7" piece of pvc sticking out. Shelf folds in two with hinge for transportation. Need to add hooks for coats.

3 way pvc floats on pipe so the shelf holders will fold up with shanty. It is held in place from underneath with conduit connectors.

Great idea on the shelf - though with my luck, I could save a lot of effort and just throw everything down the hole before setting something like that up:eek:

Looks good guys !

I have an idea in my head that I'm working on. When it's finished, I'll post a picture here. It's basically an "M-S banner" that will identify me as a member on the ice as well as a little publicity. ;) Should be done some time this week.

Looks good Guys! I just designed and ordered this vinyl banner. I am going to put on my Clam 6800. The blue matches my shanty great. I figure if I am going to be on the ice I might as well be advertising.:D

awesome dan looks great!! i thought of such a thing i only worry about the flexiblity when your folding down a shanty like my shappell it folds in a heap and any banner might end up cracked or words wore off let us know how your vinyl banner holds up!

ozzgood- I thought of that too so I am going to figure a way to attach the banner each time when I set my shanty up so I don't run into that problem.
