Just wondering what kind of marinades anyone has concocted up while cooking. Also, if anyone makes their own bbq sauce how the go about it.

Terriaki - equal parts soy sauce, oil, and whiskey
meat/fish - prep meat and place in zip-lock baggie. cover with any italian salad dressing, add rosemary, garlic, lime juice, and cayenne pepper to taste.

For anyone who marinades, one of those vacuum sealers is definately the way to go. Put the marinade and meat in one bag and suck out the air until the marinade just gets before the seal and then seal it. Take that bag and put it in another and then suck all the air out on that bag. You have to use two bags because if the marinade gets to the machine it won't seal. By doing it this way I found we can cut our marinade time in half. We usually use Kraft Italian salad dressing or my wife makes a lemon marinade.

BBQ SAUCE:
1 c BROWN SUGAR
1/2 c YELLOW MUSTARD
1/2 tsp CRUCHED RED PEPPER
1 1/2oz WISKEY
1 1/2oz VERNORS
You can adjust the amounts to taste.
Also wiskey will keep after opening you dont have to use up the rest of the bottle the same day lol.
