I recently moved and was trying to find new ice fishing spots. I fished mostly Metro Beach and Brest Bay looks like a similar option. Just wondering about access at the marina during the winter?

....there is safe ice or, in the case of erie, a safe wind!!!

the ice on brest bay was 16 to 20 inches thick last year, but with a strong west wind, it will blow the water out from underneath the ice, causing the ice to dead-fall through the water void. this happened several times last year, so just make sure you have checked the local weather the last possible minute before you hit the ice.

you can park right at the marina, walk about 20 feet, and you are on erie!!! it is very convenient, and i do not think they charge you to park, but a visit to their bait shop is always appreciated. are you familiar with the area and where to go? if not, PM me or say so here, and i will get the directions for ya......where did you move to? the monroe area?

Thanks. I know how to get out there, just some marinas aren't too happy with fisherman parking on their property.
I moved to the Monroe area.
