Yellowbelli, the fishing over there was excellent last year. Unfortunately, it is a long, long walk from shore. I would say it is 1 to 1 1/2 miles before you get to the decent fishing area (10 - 11 fow) and most guys go out even further. A quad makes life easier over there. As far as species, perch is the only fish I've seen caught at those depths.

Mostly perch over there but we've caught a few walleyes while jigging but we were WAY out at the time.

Last year with all the ice we had we were fishing 5-7 miles out/ Quads were a must but there were alot of guys quite closer to shore.. 14 fow of water worked for us!

last year was HOT at st lukes and good and mitchells... usally the other way around for me.... but there was a ton of ice... I would say that we had almost twice as much ice in thickness than normal years... this year is on track for normal.... start around x-mass and fish till some time feb / mar....
