I just put some 6 lb. Fluorocarbon polymer alloy fishing line on my ice reels. Its .010" diameter. After putting it on I wish I would have went with the 4 lb test. It felt like it had great knot strength.

Anyone else try this stuff good or bad? and does this stuff come in Clear. The stuff I got is kinda a light green.

I'm using 4lb berkley vanish on one of my ice rods.... so far no complaints, but it seems as if its spool to spool of the stuff. Had a 6lb spool that would break like nothing, then ended up getting another spool of the same stuff, and it worked well. So it seems hit and miss. This year for walleye I'm trying P-Line Floroclear 6lb..... I used it all this summer and fall and like it a lot. It is clear, along with the berkley that i got is also clear. I think this floroclear might be the line that I settle on using.

Ed I have used most out there and find that the PLine Floroice works well in the 5lb rating and Seaguar Carbon Ice in the 6 or
4lb. Seaguar seems to ice up the least.

Seaguar, is also great during the summer months. It has alot of abrasion resistance which I find comes in handy when scrubbing the bottom.
See You on the ice.

I'm not really that big a fan of the fluorocarbon line but of the brands I have tried, Seaguar's seemed to preform about the best.
I should also add that I have never tried it for ice fishing. One year I spooled all my reels with Spider Wire and after the first day spending most of my time untangling the stuff, it was back to mono. :)

I tried Vanish for walleye fishing last year and after loosing about $30.00 in plugs and hardware I went back to mono.
