I've made quite a few coon skin hats over the years but never tried"stinkers". For years I tried to harvest a scent-free hide to no avail. Tandy Leather has patterns and hides, maybe you can make your own. Its not hard, practice on some denim first.
I used to wear my 'coon skin cap bow hunting till a hawk almost took it off my head. That made me think, if a hawk couldn't tell the differents, could a coon hunter? I really recomend you don't wear one out hunting!!

There is a taxidermist just down the road from me here in Elk Rapids who has skunk skin hats for sale. They are very high quality and they are by far the most reputable shop in the region. They have been in buisness since the area was settled decades ago. The hats are pricey but as the saying goes "you get what you pay for". All of their work is hierloom quality. They are:

Guntzviller Taxidermy
11060 US 31
Elk Rapids, MI 49629
(231) 264-5597

I'm not affiliated or anything, just a VERY satisfied customer who likes to see local buisness' suceed. Hope this helps, good luck.

I reckon it's about 220 miles northwest of Jackson, or about a 3 1/2 to 4 hour drive. Try calling them, maybe they'll ship it to you. Congrats on your wedding, sounds like it'll be a fun affair! Best wishes to you and yours.
